George Anderson started working life in a cattle market before he and his brother John started a livestock haulage company with a tractor and trailer. They purchased their first lorry, a Ford D Series with a wooden cattle box in 1975.
J & G Anderson continued until 1985 when John left the company. In 1999 George expanded and bought out George D Walker; with son David working at the business they moved into the hay and straw transport trade. The George Anderson & Son fleet consists of a Scania R620 lorry and Montracon tri axle trailer and a Scania R620 tractor unit with a Houghton Parkhouse ‘The Professional’ livestock transporter.
